Dear Friends of Showdown -

After 7 inspiring years in the Twin Cities, The Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown is moving to the city of New Orleans in 2009.

There are a few reasons for the move -
1) I will have more resources and more local support from business and music/art organizations supporting events like this.
2) I live there making it 100 times easier for me to plan and create my ideal event.
3) JAZZ MUSIC & DANCE CULTURE are EVERYDAY parts of life there.

Minnesota dancers have been AMAZINGLY supportive to Showdown. I deeply appreciate the help and housing you have given over the years. Many out of town dancers could not have attended without you opening your doors to them. Thank you, thank you, thank you! And the favor will most definitely be returned by New Orleans dancers.

Yes, it is sad to move, and I was very hesitant at first. But in the end, this is ABSOLUTELY the best decision to keep Showdown fresh and to re-inspire the entire lindy hop community.

So, lets make the last Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown in Minnesota the best yet!
