During the recent Hurricane Gustav evacuation, Memphis swing dancers, many of whom had come to New Orleans last April for our Fleur de Lindy exchange, welcomed New Orleans dancers into their homes and pulled out the stops trying to distract us from CNN, The Weather Channel, etc. We had a blast, considering. They were even willing to take us back for Ike, if needed.

Now we can go to Memphis just for fun, joining Memphis dancers for their first Lindy exchange, October 17-19th (October 16, if you count the pre-exchange blues jam party Thursday night). The music sounds fabulous, the dance floors sublime, and there is bound to be a crowd from New Orleans heading north for this "Red Hot" dance weekend.
